Approach and Levels of Stylistics Analysis Part 2
STYLISTICS ANALYSIS
PART 2
In the last post, we were able to cover some parts of the Levels of Stylistics analysis. This is a continuation of the last class(post).
So fasting your seat belts as we dive deep into STYLISTICS ANALYSIS!!!.
first on my list is:
- Discourse analysis
Discourse analysis is the study of the way in which communication functions and how people relate to others within the context of speech and writing. Looking at Discourse analysis, we can reach conclusions about any aspect of language and how our use of linguistic structures impacts the way we are perceived by others.
- Register
Register describes the choices we make when communicating with specific social groups: so in a formal situation, such as in an interview, English speakers are likely to use the standard English expression.
- Lexis
When talking about Lexis choice or issuse, we are simply talking about vocabulary and word choice: what words have a writer chosen to use in order to achieve their desired effect? By looking at particular and individual words, it is possible to focus on a text in a very detailed way as this approach encourages us to make links between words and to consider the type of language used within the text.
- Modality
Modality is about a speaker’s or a writer’s attitude towards the world. A speaker or writer can express certainty, possibility, willingness, obligation, necessity, and ability which is or can only be attributed to the writer.
last on the list for this section is!:
Intertextuality
Which is simply the relationship between texts, especially literary ones.
Thank you all for staying. Remember to like and drop a comment.

Approach and Levels of Stylistics Analysis Part 1
STYLISTICS
The Pragmatic approach: For this situation, the expressive expert searches for hints in ordinary transformations to comprehend talk in artistic works; they center around informative conduct. Reeh (1983) portrays it as an approach to utilizing the intelligent perspective, to build up literary significance(a way of using the interactive point of view, to establish textual meaning).
Radical approach: Burton (1982) thinks about this approach as far as looking for the ideological imprint of the text. The process looks past the text to observe significance through the social and historical forces that might impact the text.
Empirical approach: This approach gets its structure from the constructivist hypothesis(Theory) of cognition.Levels of Stylistic analysis
A Stylistic analysis follows various levels; in light of the approaches referenced over, the levels might be together to develop literary importance. Here is a fundamental layout for legitimate text examination utilized in Poetry.
- Grammatical level: Here, the style investigator checks out morphology and linguistic structure. The level tries to separate sentence structure, grammatical forms, conditions, and expressions utilized recorded as a hard copy. It additionally recognizes time, spot, and justification for occasions, the examination that decides the creator’s aims, and what may occur straightaway.
- Lexical level: Thus, the level views at individual words and sayings as utilized in various settings. One requirements to get semantics, word development, and morphology.
- Semantics: Semantics deals with the meaning of words according to context.
- Pragmatics. This is a part of semantics that examines how imperceptible implications are set up in a text.
This is the first part of the Approach and Levels of Stylistics Analysis, we shall continue in the next part of our post.
Hope we were able to solve some issues?. Write to us in the comment section.

Near yet so far
To the land of hope,a journey.
Within my strength, a snail’s stride.
Embracing the thorns as the journey
Unfolds,on a slow but furious ride.My flesh bleeds bitterly
Sailing through the broken glasses
That which illuminates brightly
The path of the fulfilled wishesHaving sighted the land of vision
I exhale merrily,a sigh of relief
That a thousand mile mission
Will surely come to an end,my beliefFor it’s near, yet so far it seems
Getting there the struggle continues© Sallah

To the gurus in the house
You thought it’s ok
Yet it’s not a fair play
My efforts,all In dismay
In all I love ye!Thank me not!
You set me forth
To conquer not,
Till now, henceforth
I rear this thoughtTo paint the world,
With my ink,on board.
And thy names, in accord
Here and there, reward!© Anonymous

I shall die in the flames
At 18, .
Stirred by hope of becoming an architect-
Traveling around the world and
Fulling my dream,
My mom bids Adieu to earthly scencesConsternated, whammed,
Exasperated, Jarred.Maybe joining her is a way to
Free myself from the rigmaroles of life.
Then I realized,
It takes courage to commit sucideI resorted to smoking;
“If I can’t take a gun to kill myself,
I can smoke to kill myself”I’ve already made up my mind,
sooner than later,
the light in my heart will off,
and I’ll lay my vernal head to rest
beneath a turf.©Adigun Peter

DAUGHTER OF THE NATURE
Shattered I am
Even broken
Like a bottle
Splashed on the rock.
My mind cant uphold my goals
Even my heart and eyes.
The whole a tired life. Not until..
The breeze of the white land
Rises my moist hair
Like a lustrous hands of the lamp
In the realm of darkness.
Though I have never been there,
But I can feel the pets by the nature. As I wander a far
Seen, the beautiful daughter of the God.
Smiling to my frowned eyes
Like the laughs of the rag
When its arm got torn by the angry hands of a man,
To my sight, a glee
And my soul, a plea
That my sadness tastes the honey of the bee.Oh what hath nature born?
A sweet sweet like a rose
O’er the sea side.
Rich like the vegetable in the rainy season. For never I might forget the scent,
The scent that my mind taste.
And the beauty
That you feed my eyes,
That all girls couldn’t lend
Stil in the memories that my mouth can’t tell.©©JAMZY DE LORD
